All of our children’s products are carefully evaluated to ensure that they meet or exceed the toy safety requirements of the United States Consumer Products Safety Commission. This includes a careful analysis of our art materials formulations by a board certified toxicologist, to ensure they do not pose a risk of oral toxicity or eye/skin irritation. However, there is still the possibility of allergic reactions.

I see that the products say Made In China. Are they safe? All of our children’s products are carefully evaluated to ensure that they meet or exceed the toy safety requirements of the United States Consumer Products Safety Commission. This includes a careful analysis of our art materials formulations by a board certified toxicologist, to ensure they do not pose a risk of oral toxicity or eye/skin irritation. We use an independent toy testing laboratory to conduct an impartial evaluation of our items. The lab also evaluates our products to ensure that there are no mechanical hazards present, no lead or other hazardous heavy metals, and that items are properly labeled for consumers.

Are your products tested for safety? It is important to always read warning labels and to use products that are age-appropriate for your children.

My child got marker / crayon / etc. on my carpet, table, or clothing. Do you have cleaning instructions? Cleaning Instructions: Cleaning suggestions are not guaranteed to work on severe stains. Skin: Wash skin thoroughly with dish liquid, scrubbing gently to remove as much ink as possible. If stain remains, massage thoroughly with Noxema cleanser or cold cream for 5 minutes. Repeat washing with dish liquid and massaging with cold cream until stain is removed (may take several repetitions). Adding a step of applying rubbing alcohol to the above routine may also help (but is very drying to skin). Soaking in the bath tub for 20 minutes or so is also very helpful. Keep in mind that some products may take a day or two to wear off, but they are not harmful to the skin. Note: Blue Surprize Ink marker and Blue Regular marker are the toughest to remove from skin and may take a day or two to wear off. Clothing (Washable Only): Rinse stain with cold water to remove as much of the ink as possible. Dab stain with rubbing alcohol. Launder immediately using warmest setting possible for fabric, detergent and color safe bleach, such as Biz. Polyester fabrics are easiest to clean. For natural fabrics such as cotton, an additional step using a stain remover may be helpful. Surfaces (Wallpaper/Washable Walls/Vinyl Floors/Counter Tops/Tile): With a damp sponge, scrub area with liquid mild abrasive cleaner such as Soft Scrub. Magic Eraser cleaning pads also may work on these surfaces. Carpet: (Every carpet is different so the carpet manufacturer’s instructions should be followed. Try these methods on an inconspicuous area first to make sure it does not damage your carpet.) Saturate stain with rubbing alcohol and blot with paper towels. Repeat applying alcohol and blotting with paper towels until stain is mostly gone. Using a few drops of dish liquid per 1 cup warm water, use a sponge to wash area, blotting frequently with paper towels. For extra tough stains, use Resolve Carpet Cleaner according to the directions. Another great stain treater is “Nature’s Miracle” found at most pet supply stores. Wood: Marker stains which cannot be removed with mild soap and water or wood-safe cleaner will probably require professional repair. Solvent based cleaners such as Goof Off may work, but could damage wood’s finish, and may not remove severe stains.
